The We The Heroes Ball was started in 2016 in association with New York Comic Con (NYCC) during the NYCC Presents series. It serves as a cabaret-style fundraiser for LGBT organizations that are in need of donations. The event itself is a show consisting of entertainers from all parts of the LGBT artistic community (and various allies) performing nerd themed numbers one after another in the pursuit of raising money to give to the LGBT charity beneficiary of the night. Everyone from local drag queens to myself (as a singer) and dancers come together to celebrate geek-culture while also doing good. In 2018 the show has expanded to my home state of CT. With two shows a year now we are looking to dramatically increase the money raised for local LGBT organizations in need!
The mission in creating this event is to have it become a legacy event within the LGBT community, as well as within geek culture, in the pursuit of helping LGBT organizations gather the funds/resources they need to assist anyone who comes to them in need.
